The Consulate of the Republic of Seychelles in Hong Kong & Macau and Mr.

The Consulate of the Republic of Seychelles in Hong Kong & Macau and Mr. Philippe Le Gall, the Seychelles Ambassador based in the Republic in China, have joined together to organize a tourism industry seminar in Hong Kong and has invited the Seychelles Tourism Board along with representatives from the travel and tourism sector of Seychelles to endeavor to join them and help develop future business from Hong Kong and Macau. Key and active tour operators and travel agents from Hong Kong have already confirmed their presence at this Seychelles event.

Alain St Ange, the CEO of Seychelles Tourism Board, will be heading the Seychelles trade delegation seminar, which will be held on Thursday, February 23, at Langham Place Hotel in Hong Kong. Mr. St.Ange said that this event is being organized at an opportune moment. “As we are diversifying our marketing approach to penetrate into new emerging markets which have potential for future growth, we are witnessing extra support from the Seychelles Ambassador and the Seychelles Consul based in China. It is now confirmed that 11 Seychelles Trade Partners will be attending the event in Hong Kong alongside the Seychelles Tourism Board,” Mr. St.Ange said.

Three overseas representatives of different Seychelles companies – Mr. Stephen Kwong, GSA for Air Seychelles; Mr. Weiwei, Masons Travel; and Ms. Carol Tsang, Constance Hotel Experience – will each be giving a short presentation on behalf of their respective companies. Representatives from Seychelles trade partners who are after business from China have now left Seychelles to be present at the Hong Kong promotional event. These are: Ms. Lindy Cadeau, 7 Degrees South; Mr. Guillaume Albert, Creole Travel Services; Mr. Derek Savy, Elite Club Ltd.; Mr. Freddy Karkaria, Select Seychelles; Mr. Peter Pomeroy, La Reserve; Mr. Robert Payet, Hotel Le Duc de Praslin; Mr. Ahmed Kamal, Le Meridien Hotel; and Ms. Amanda Lang, Desroches Island.

It is also now confirmed that around 10 tour and travel companies from Hong Kong and Macau will be signing an MOU with the Seychelles Tourism Board that expresses their desire to work with Seychelles to open the Chinese market to Seychelles. Among the top 10 tour operators in Hong Kong, 7 have confirmed that they will be attending the Seychelles seminar alongside the 30-plus expected participation from the Chinese tourism trade.
